GAME OF THRONES’ Kit Harrington has apologised for comments he made about Belfast during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

During the interview, Harrington said that Belfast was only good for two or three days and described it as “wonderfully depressing”.

The comments sparked a massive backlash and Harrington today apologised for any offense caused.

Speaking to Belfast Life, Harrington described the city as his “second home” and said he thought he could get away with making jokes because he had been in the city for so long.

He recalled moving up at first and hearing a bus driver joking about Northern Ireland celebrating the Titanic and the like. “I think that is why I thought I could make a joke about it on a talk show,” Harrington said.

I hope no one watched that and thought Belfast was not a great place.
