Going Ga-Ga

Lady Gaga's latest look: freaky facial furniture

The singer meets Jay Leno – complete with pointy new additions to her face, which her publicists won’t comment about.

LADY GAGA has long been known for being something of a fashion hellraiser – the woman who turned the bodysuit into an art form did, of course, show up to the Grammys in some kind of giant egg.

On Monday night, though, the singer took her penchant for pushing the envelope to the next level – and appeared on Jay Leno’s chat show with what appeared to have been subdermal implants.

And upon closer inspection, it also appeared that the 24-year-old songstress (real name Stefani Germanotta) had worn them to Sunday night’s Grammy Awards – prompting some speculation that they may be permanent.

The Daily Mail said, however, that when it asked Gaga’s publicists about whether the new additions were merely well-disguised prosthetics, or full-blown inserts planted underneath her skin, no formal comment was offered.

It also notes that a similar implant (or prosthesis) appeared on her shoulder at Sunday’s award ceremony, at which she picked up three awards.

Prior to the Grammys, her last public appearance had come on January 11 – so it’s possible that the singer may have undergone a surgical procedure to have the implants fitted in the meantime.

Subdermal implants have become increasingly popular in more recent years, with patients having small metallic shapes implanted under the skin.
