(Spoilers if you haven’t watched the episode airing 26 July …)

Dr. Alex officially called things off with Alexandra on Love Island, after their final date outside the villa.
The pair went off to drive a Ferrari for the day, opening up on their ongoing relationship. With that, it became abundantly clear that they were on different wavelengths.
Alexandra gushed:
I’m really looking forward to meeting your friends, your family, and just kind of seeing how our lives will merge together. I think that’s really exciting. I definitely feel like we just need to go outside and have some fun and just be ourselves. I’m so excited to get on the outside with you.”
Alex replied, saying he hoped he can be more affectionate with her on the outside. Er, ok, weren’t saying that when you were looking for a handjob off her though, were you?
The doctor went on:
It’s not always easy. I think other couples are trying to rush. I think we’re moving at what’s comfortable for us. I’m happy with that. I think slow and steady wins the race sometimes.”
From that point on, Alex was ready to jump ship. He confided in both Jack and Dani, expressing his concern about a lack of a spark between them.
We just don’t seem to… it doesn’t seem to feel right. I don’t have the right feelings that I should be. The thing is she wants to move at quite a quick pace. She wants lots of affection, and she wants things to move quite quickly. I just can’t match that. I feel like things just aren’t quite right with us.
It’s so hard to explain but I just don’t have the feelings that I feel I should have. On the outside I do like to take things slower. I wouldn’t want to rush in too quickly.”
Alex eventually decided to discuss the issue with Alexandra (as opposed to every other islander in the villa), saying that he “wasn’t at that level” to commit.
Heartbroken Alexandra asked:
How have you let me believe that there was a chance?”
He tried to make up an excuse and replied: “Over the last couple of days I’ve just felt that we were different.”
Alexandra then, fairly, pointed out: “I just think you’re trying to come across as this super nice guy.
I think that you’ve led me along this path and you’ve been lying all this time… you’re absolutely pathetic, you’ve wasted my time. Shame on you.”
Yep. Can’t wait for that Aftersun interview.
