Mary Byrne says she won't return to her old job

Mary says she’s looking forward to her new career in music, and that she won’t return to her old supermarket job.

MARY BYRNE HAS said that she will not return to her old job after being sent home from the X Factor.

Mary reached the semi-finals of the competition before losing to 17-year-old Cher Lloyd on Sunday night’s show.

However, speaking on ITV’s Lorraine show, Byrne said she was looking forward to her new career in music. When asked if she would return to her old job in Tesco, she said:

No, I don’t think so. I’m hoping I’ll get an album and get a new single out. I’m looking forward to the tour. It’s going to be such fun and being back in Dublin.

She added that she was backing Rebecca Ferguson to win.

Meanwhile, suspicions that the show had been rigged were circulating in the British press following Mary’s departure. On Sunday night, the show’s judges decided which of the bottom two contestants should go forward to the finals – in contrast to previous years when the audience cast the deciding vote.
