she's going to croker

A happy ending for one Mayo superfan.

REMEMBER KANY KAZADI?

She was one of many desperate GAA fans on the hunt of a ticket for Sunday’s All Ireland final between Mayo and Dublin – even going as far as braiding her hair red and green for the occasion.

The whole process took 10 hours, so it’s fair to say that the gal deserves to go, right?

Well, today’s her lucky day.

Eir have come to her aid and gifted her with two money-can’t-buy tickets to Croker.

On the decision to give her the tickets, a spokesperson for Eir said:

Kany’s spectacular act of devotion to the Mayo team has caught the eye of eir, sponsors of the All Ireland Senior Football Championship, and we would like to make it possible for her and a friend to be in Croke Park on Sunday.”

Midwest Radio got her reaction to the news on video too.

“I can’t believe this”, she said in response to the news. “Bring on the Dubs!”

Here’s hoping after all that hard graft, the 66-year long curse comes to an end!

Kany, who’s lived in Castlebar for the last 12 years, tells DailyEdge.ie that the extensions took 10 hours to braid into her hair this week – a special effort for the final:

I’ve only missed three matches this year. I’ve been up to Croker four times – twice for the games with Roscommon and again for the two with Kerry. Wouldn’t like to miss the final.”

The brilliantly colourful Mayo hairstyle is becoming Kany’s signature look in September.

I only do the hair if we get to the final – I did it for last year’s final and now this year’s. It’s a tradition now each time we reach the final I will do something with my hair.”
