UP AND COMING Irish actor Moe Dunford has been chosen as one of the European Shooting Stars at the Berlin International Film Festival which takes place in February.
The recognition follows praise for his performance in the new film Patrick’s Day.
Dunford is following in the footsteps of actors including Daniel Craig, Andrew Scott, Domhnall Gleeson, Carey Mulligan and Daniel Brühl who have previously been honoured as Shooting Stars.
Earlier this year, he was also nominated for the Bingham Ray New Talent Award at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh for his portrayal of Patrick, a patient suffering from schizophrenia.
If you watch the major international TV series Vikings, you might also recognise him as Aethelwulf.
Speaking about the news, Dunford said he was “hugely honoured and proud”. He thanked writer and director of Patrick’s Day, Terry McMahon, for being prepared to take a chance on a young actor for the leading role.
