What's in my makeup bag? Nadia El Ferdaoussi (The Daily S'elf)

Having a rummage through our favourite faces’ wares.

EACH WEEK, WE’LL be taking a peek into some of our faves’ makeup bags to see their must-have products, because we’re nosey. This week, it’s the turn of travel blogger Nadia El Ferdaoussi. You can follow her on Instagram here and her blog The Daily S’elf here.

Her earliest makeup memories

“Some of my earliest make up memories would’ve been raiding my older sister’s make up bag. It was the nineties, so we’re talking Heather Shimmer lipstick, clear mascara and iridescent eye shadows! Oh and over-plucking of brows unfortunately.

The first ‘premium’ make up purchase I ever made was Electric Eel bright blue eyeshadow from MAC and a blending brush, I still have both of them actually.

“Thankfully, I’ve toned down my look now and I’m all about products that are quick and easy to use to create a natural look. I love powder foundations instead of bronzer to get the perfect shade. This Urban Decay one is well loved (I use the ‘Dark’ shade), but I never use the sponges that come with the product.

“MAC ‘Ruby Woo’ with ‘Cherry’ lip pencil is my go to statement lip combo, the blue undertone really makes your teeth look white too.”

Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer has such a lovely texture and coverage, the shades are excellent too.

Lancome Skin Feels Good is a new foundation I’m trying out, the colours are great and the finish is very dewy. I’m trying to decide if it’s a bit too shiny for me, but I love the light coverage

Rimmel ‘Cappucino’ is one of my favourite neutral lip pencils, paired with Clinique Long Lasting Gloss.

L’Oreal’s Brow Artist Plumper is one of my fave brow gels, I love Benefit’s Precisely, My Brow pencil, but I ran out recently in Barcelona and picked up this NYX one. The colour payoff isn’t as good!

“I always travel with this Clarins eye shadow palette (a travel exclusive I picked up in Dublin airport), it has everything you need and is so tiny and light. You’ll see it’s well travelled, as is the NARS Frenzy blush and highlight duo. Anything that can multi-task and save space is a winner in my books!”
