Oh look, Big Brother's nearly over

The eleventh – and supposedly final – series of BB comes to an end. Did you notice?

YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE NOTICED – in fact, we’ll admit that we didn’t either – but the final series of Big Brother UK comes to an end tonight, with five housemates fighting it out for a £100,000 (€122,000) prize.

It’s been, all things considered, a pretty tame season with the show finishing its run on Channel 4 – an image not at all helped by the decision to hold the show’s finale on a Tuesday night instead of its usual flagship Friday slot.

So, to keep you up to speed if you fancy tuning in at 8pm to watch the whole thing finish*, here’s a brief synopsis of what’s gone on.

There’s five housemates left – Andrew, Dave, JJ, Josie and Mario. Andrew and JJ are late additions to the house, with JJ arriving on Day 44 while Andrew came on Day 31. The other three have all been there since the start, so today is Day 77 for them.

Last week there was a flood in the house after the roof caved in from heavy rains. The housemates were only able to access a small part of the house for about a day.

Josie fancied John James, who was evicted last week.

That’s pretty much it. There hasn’t been much scandal going on. Oh, for the days of Nasty Nick.

* It’s not the end though, there’s an Ultimate Big Brother show starting tonight which will feature some of the show’s former regular and celebrity housemates, who will participate in a two-week mini-series.

Though Channel 4 has not opted to renew the show, Channel Five is understood to be interested in taking over the Big Brother franchise for future series.
