This people-powered taxi prank had Irish passengers totally fooled

Give us a push there, will ya?

THERE’S A NEW breed of taxi on Irish roads and it’s certainly taking gullible passengers on one hell of a free ride.

The people-powered taxi doesn’t cost a penny, but it doesn’t run on petrol either. It has its own dedicated team standing by to give it a push.

Sure why not? As the drivers say, it’s definitely one way to reduce your carbon footprint.

The first unsuspecting passengers got quite the shock when they realised what people-powered actually meant though, and one young woman was particularly worried.

Of course, the taxis in question aren’t actually real. A FREE taxi was always bound to be too good to be true.

The cars were put on the road by news analysis site NewsWhip, who teamed up with Hailo to pull off the prank.

Bravo.
