Michael Phelps has formally challenged Conor McGregor to a race in the pool

Crazy to think this was 9 years ago... #memories

SINCE CONOR MCGREGOR made his professional boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather, fans have been speculating what sport he’ll try next.

Perhaps he’ll race Mo Farah? Play darts against Michael van Gerwen?

Last night, swimming legend Michael Phelps formally challenged Conor McGregor to a race in the pool. Because frankly, why the hell not?

“All of this talk,” Phelps wrote. “Should we race as well?” before sharing a Phelps vs. McGregor graphic. In fairness, we can see McGregor rocking a swimming hat.

Phelps is a professed admirer of McGregor, having congratulated him on his performance against Mayweather and praised him as an “amazing competitor”.

McGregor has yet to respond to Phelps’ offer, but we reckon his kick might give him an advantage in the pool.

Don’t rule it out, Conor.
