This guy went to great lengths to prank airline passengers flying over his house

*applause*

IF YOU LIVED below a busy flight path, you’d probably just have to grin and bear it.

Not this guy, though.

Living just beside the airport in the US city of Milwaukee, a prankster took to his roof to paint the following:

The kicker is that Cleveland is over 400 miles away, and the sign is visible to all planes that fly into Milwaukee. Which would be brilliantly confusing to any new passengers flying in.

It turns out that the letters have been painted on the roof for the last 37 years, but it hit the front page of Reddit over the weekend – garnering this brilliant prank some deserved global attention.

You can even find the message on Google Earth, in all its glory.

The prankster in question Mark Gubin, above, is now in his 70s and his local paper covered the story back in 2005, getting into why he did it:

Gubin still thrills at the thought of passengers looking out the aircraft windows during final descent and either having a laugh or summoning the flight attendant in a panic.

Just imagine flying into that airport for the first time and marvelling at the confusing message below.

Genius.
