Aisling Bea's makeup artist runs through the look she wore meeting Prince Harry and Meghan

Serving laughs AND looks.

COMEDIAN AISLING BEA had a royaler (sorry) meeting Prince Harry and Meghan at their reception at the British Embassy this week.

(Never mind that, what is Amy chuckling about?)

To compliment her, eh, fair skin and gorge gúna, Miss Bea went for a red lip and liner. Only the best for when you’re rubbing shoulders with Mary Robinson, I suppose.

As it turns out, Bea kept it in the family when it came to her glam squad. Her cousin James Mac Inerney, a graduand of VanityX Academy, did her makeup for the occasion.

Speaking to DailyEdge.ie, he very graciously ran through the products he used, and spilled all on growing up with Bea:

“Aisling is my first cousin on my mother’s side of the family. We have been huge supporters of her career from the beginning after she graduated from Trinity and attended LAMDA school of drama/arts in London.

We both got caught up in our own life’s journeys with college, moving abroad, travel etc but Christmas time and family occasions were always great life updates.”

“I decided to return to college last year to pursue a full-time diploma in TV/Film makeup artistry in VanityX Academy in Dublin City Centre.

I recently shadowed on set for Amy Huberman’s new show ‘Finding Joy’ under the watchful eye of makeup director Siobhan Harper-Ryan. Aisling happened to be one of the main characters so it was great for our paths to join up again. We’ve been in touch a lot lately and agreed to work together on her look for meeting Prince Harry and Megan last night at the Embassy.”

So, let’s talk about her royal glam!

“Aisling was wearing Irish designer dress made by Simone Rocha. It has lovely soft warm toned colours, so we thought we should play up a strong winged liner and red lip to keep it classy and sophisticated, event appropriate!

“First off, Aisling wears full factor SPF to protect her skin on a daily basis from UV rays especially with the warmer weather we’re having right now. A good combat SPF/primer I would recommend is Makeup For Ever’s UV primer, I myself use it daily with level 30 SPF, it is super light under any foundation and doesn’t crease or make your skin/makeup feel heavy and protects against any sun damage.

“Aisling uses Chantecaille gel foundation in shade ’Porcelain’ as her base. I combined this with the vegan/cruelty free brand Inika oil free liquid foundation to match Aisling’s skin type. I used a light warmed toned Inglot bronzer, number 44, mixing with Inika’s ‘Sun Kissed’ baked bronzer to warm up Aisling’s face and Terry Cosmetics number 5 blush for cheeks.

Inglot’s matte brown shadows were used to create depth on the eyes and Inglot’s number 77 gel liner with Duraline was used to create that classic Hollywood flick. Inika mascara was applied to give the lashes extra volume.

“I finished the eyes with a touch of MAC’s ‘Nylon’ shimmer eyeshadow on the brow bone and inner eye corner.

“I used Inglot’s number 12 red lip tint shade which dries matte and has long lasting wear if having any bubbly/nibbles. (TIP – To keep lips moist and smooth all evening, I applied a light layer of Blistex intensive moisturiser at the start of the makeup app, leaving lips in top condition when coming to the final application!

This is my second time to work with Aisling and first time to fully prep her makeup for an event and it was a pleasure to work with her, there’s always space for a laugh!”
