"Pull 'em up or find another ride" - Texas town bans baggy jeans on bus

Fort Worth bans baggy jeans on public transport, saying some passengers are offended by seeing others’ underwear.

A TEXAS TOWN has taken the unusual step of banning people from its buses if their jeans are too baggy.

The strange move, in the city of Fort Worth, has been fuelled by complaints from the city’s commuters that they didn’t want to see the underwear of other travellers.

A spokesperson for the city’s Transportation Authority explained to Reuters that “a lot of different people ride the bus, and many of them told us it’s not a good idea to have your pants below your buttocks.”

The new policy has been advertised with signs reading: “Pull ‘em up or find another ride.”

The spokesperson added that the new moves are an extension of a previous policy which forbids travellers from riding the bus barefeet or naked from the waist up.

On its first day in place, 50 people were removed from buses having apparently breached the rule.

Fort Worth is the fifth-largest city in Texas, and the sixteenth overall in the US, with a population of 1.2 million.
