Rihanna has Photoshopped the Queen's head onto some of her most iconic looks and it's causing waves

Instagram is lighting up.

AH, RIHANNA.

She’s been busy in the last week or so – from tearing up Coachella fashion to appearing on the side of the Empire State Building. It’s all go.

And yesterday her Instagram was the centre of the internet’s attention after she posted some classic pictures of herself… with Queen Elizabeth’s head Photoshopped on

Oh yes.

Four separate images have appeared

And with nearly 53 million followers, they’ve garnered a serious amount of attention overnight

It was the actual Queen’s 91st birthday on Friday, so some people have been speculating that it was a tribute to that event – but no clarification has come on the matter from Rihanna

She lets her Photoshops speak for themselves.

Naturally, reaction to the unexplained images has been mixed – especially when it comes to the tabloids across the water:

There’s a “huge” backlash according to The Daily Mail

Fans are “furious” according to the Metro

While arguments are raging in the comment sections underneath each post, look around and you’ll see plenty calling them iconic

Like Buzzfeed, last night:

Attitude Magazine’s piece summed up this side of the argument:

We’re not sure what the hell’s going on, but frankly we’re loving it.

Most of the comments on Instagram appear to show people who think it’s a lighthearted take on the Queen’s birthday – and that someone with her head on so many things might not mind it happening four additional times.

Two Queens come together

This one could run and run.

We’re just waiting for Rihanna’s mate Prince Harry to row into the debate. Now, that would be something – Photoshop or not.
