This Scottish lad had the best retort ever to Tesco on Twitter

He clearly operates a strict “no snitching” policy.

TWITTER USER @Haraam_ was in Tesco when he spotted an expired product on the shelves.

Being a good citizen, he decided to alert Tesco to the problem and reminded them that it isn’t “cool” to sell out-of-date produce.

Owen from Tesco immediately intervened and asked if Haraam could tell him what store it was in, presumably so someone could get a little slap on the hand for their actions.

But Haraam, ever noble, decided not to snitch on the Tesco store in question and delivered the most Scottish response imaginable.

Per Word Detective:

The use of “grass” as British slang for a police informer dates back to the 1930s, and is apparently a short form of the slang term “grasshopper,” meaning the same thing.
