Is it OK to start the second layer of chocolates before finishing the first?

The question that splits families.

ON THE ONE hand, a box of chocolates is a wonderful cornucopia of delights for all the family.

On the other, it’s a dog-eat-dog battle where the weakest and slowest are left with the manky strawberry cremes.

So here’s the question: if you’re left with the dregs, is it OK to go for the second layer?

Some people believe in waiting until every morsel is eaten before going for the second layer. Others insist it’s OK to dip underneath for your favourites, even when there are chocolates left above. Which side are you on?

Is it ever OK to go for the second layer of chocolates without finishing the first?
