SINEAD O’CONNOR has declared that she will remain married to fourth husband Barry Herridge – despite their marriage being ‘kyboshed’ by members of his family shortly after they wed last month.
Writing on Twitter earlier today, O’Connor said she and Herridge – who married in Las Vegas last month – were to remain married, and would continue to be ‘boyfriend and girlfriend’.
“We did rush so we gonna return to b friend g friend,” O’Connor explained, “an be sickenly happy an go counsellin an move in in like a yr like regular people.. buy stay married an we all in love an **** each other.”
O’Connor had blogged on December 26 to reveal that her marriage with Herridge – who she had only met a month previously – had been undone by the behaviour of some people on his side of the family.
“It became apparent to me that if he were to stay with me he would be losing too much to bear…I saw his life leave him because of how people close to him reacted,” she wrote.
She had said at the time that the pair had made a mistake by rushing into their 16-day marriage, only seven days of which they had spent together.
