KNOWING HOW TO spell ‘knaidel’ was the clincher that won Arvind Mahankali the 2013 national spelling championships in the US.

Arvind will now take home $30,000 worth of cash and prizes, along with what NBC called “a large cup-shaped trophy”.

Among the words he had to spell were ‘dehnstufe’, ‘glossophagine’, ‘crapaud’ and ‘trichocercous’.
