The Obamas welcome a new addition to the family

A little sister for Bo.

HE TRIED TO make fetch happen, but failed. Poor Bo Obama, maybe a new ally will help?

The Obamas have announced a new addition to the first family–a puppy. Little Sunny Obama was born in Michigan in June 2012, and officially moved into the White House yesterday.

Like Bo, Sunny is a Portuguese Water Dog and is described by the White House as being “full of energy and very affectionate”.

Michelle Obama was quick to tweet her delight at the arrival of their new pet.

Luckily, Sunny seems to be getting on well with big brother Bo, as seen in this official video from the White House. She can be distinguished from her sibling by her black fur–while Bo has white paws and stomach.

To celebrate the new addition, the Obamas will be making a donation to the Washington Humane Society in honour of their cute new pup.
