The type of coffee you drink might say a lot about your personality

Survey reveals what that espresso says about you.

WHETHER YOU LIKE lattes or adore Americanos might reflect some key personality traits, according to a survey undertaken by the Irish Coffee Council and Amárach Research.

The survey examined personality traits along with people’s coffee preferences and came to the following conclusions.

Americano drinkers tend me to be more outgoing and sociable with crowdpleasing tendencies. However, they’re also more likely to be moody and unpredictable.

Cappuccino drinkers, meanwhile, are said to be full of energy and positivity, and are likely to be seen as kind and considerate. You’re just perfect, aren’t you, cappuccino drinkers?

Latte drinkers are a little quieter and more reserved, preferring to nurture intimate relationships rather than socialise in large groups. They are also seen as helpful and giving of their time.

Those who add chocolate to their coffee are spontaneous and enjoy meeting new people, while espresso fans are disorganised, introverted and prefer their own company. (Classic espresso drinker behaviour.)

In general, coffee drinkers were found to be more extroverted than non-coffee drinkers.

As regards favourite coffee drinks, 30% of Irish adults prefer cappuccinos, followed closely by Americanos (27%) and lattes (22%). A devout 10% cite espressos as their drink of choice.
