A 17-year-old from Scarborough, Imogen Silversides, is going viral for her spectacular fake tan disaster.
It all started when she spotted this advice to get a perfect tan — use a paint roller.
She writes:
Okay so after I put on snapchat how I fake tan everyone has thought it was a great idea okay so you don’t get it on your hands,can wash it,perfect even tan, NO STREAKS can get it mega dark if you like oh and you can reach your back. Why haven’t I gone on dragons den…tescos where very confused when we told them what we was using there paint rollers for!
Imogen gave it a go, but it didn’t quite go to plan.
Who ever the girl was that recommend to apply fake tan with a paint roller is one lying f*ck. Don’t think I’ll be at work Friday
The post has been liked over 40,000 times, and Silversides even made an appearance on BBC 5 Live to chat about her experience.
She claims a shower sorted out her colour, so it wasn’t all bad. She also admitted that she’s set to do it again, but record it this time for German television.
When the interviewer Peter Allen said “I’ve got a funny feeling you’ve given yourself something of an opportunity here”, implying she might not have had as much misfortune as she’s letting on.
She simply replied that she’s got three TV programmes that want her on, so sure LOOK. Anyone’s a viral star.
