THE LONG HALL is one of the most beloved boozers in the capital, popular among locals and tourists alike. The pub has been licenced since 1766, meaning that it turns the grand old age of 250 this year.
Fortunately for us, The Long Hall has retained much of its old-fashioned interiors and remains one of the most charming pubs in Dublin.
For one thing, the building itself is positively majestic.
But it’s what’s on the inside that counts and let’s just say that The Long Hall is pretty damn special inside.
The interiors — clocks, chandeliers and other miscellaneous trinkets — can make you feel like you’re in Sherlock Holmes’ local.
It can be hard to appreciate it on a busy Friday night, but these photos show that it’s an absolute beaut
Are you well? Because you’re looking well.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate the carpet, shall we?
In addition to everything else, they know how to celebrate Christmas.
Is there anything better than a hot whiskey in The Long Wall after a day of Christmas shopping?
We know the answer to that.
As if you needed confirmation that it’s totally legit, they even have this plaque hanging up.
“…down to earth genuineness and atmosphere, friendliness and presence of good company…”
Sounds dead on to us.
And sure, didn’t Phil Lynott go there in the video for Old Town?
And doesn’t Bruce Springsteen nip in there from time to time?
Happy 250th, The Long Hall.
And here’s to many, many more.
