shopping jams

Somebody has written a song about The Square in Tallaght

If you love to shop then this might be the song for you.

HEY YOU! YEAH you! Do you love to shop?

Do you love shopping centres?

Then we’ve found what might be the perfect song for you.

In 1990 to celebrate the redevelopment of Tallaght and the arrival of shopping centre The Square Dublin rockers Achill recorded a single.

It was called The Square and the cover art is spectacular:

And we are mighty fond of the back cover too, the lads are clearly hard at work rocking out and picking up some instruments:

We’ve been digging around and sadly can’t find the song online to listen to anywhere which is annoying.

We’d quite like to hear it and then dub it over this video of how The Square looks today:

Or even join it up with this Harlem Shake video from The Square (remember when the Harlem Shake seemed fresh and exciting? Us neither).

Have you heard this song? Is it as amazing as we’ve imagined? Or do you have lyrics you’d use if you were to write a song about your favourite shopping centre?
