The worst criminal ever? Man breaks into house then calls the police

Police in the US later said the man may have mental health issues.

A MAN WHO broke in to a house became so afraid when the owner returned, he called emergency services and told them he was afraid that the homeowner had a gun.

According to CNN, the suspect Timothy James Chapek, was taking a shower in the bathroom of the house he had broken in to in Portland, Oregon when the homeowner returned.

With two fearsome German shepherds, the owner, Hilary MacKenzie, asked what Chapek was doing in her house and called 911 emergency services.

Having locked himself in the bathroom Chapek admitted he had broken in but then called 911 himself and expressed his concern that the homeowner may have had a gun, Reuters reports.

Chapek was eventually taken into custody and said he was just taking a shower. He was charged with criminal trespass.

We still don’t know whether MacKenzie did indeed have a gun as Chapek feared so much but the the police report added that the intruder appeared to have “mental issues”, CNN adds.
