'David Is Dead' meme t-shirts have been axed following David Gest's death

Reality star David Gest passed away earlier today.

TIFFANY POLLARD’S MANAGEMENT have moved quickly to axe a t-shirt from her new range with the slogan ‘David Is Dead’.

Music producer and  reality TV star David Gest was found dead today in a London hotel room. The news was reportedly confirmed in a statement from his friend Imad Hamdi.

Gest hit headlines earlier this year during his run on Celebrity Big Brother, when housemate Tiffany Pollard mistakenly believed he was dead. It was, in fact, David Bowie’s death that had been announced to housemates. But her ‘David is dead’ reaction swiftly became a meme.

So much so in fact, that just last week she launched a range of clothing including a t-shirt featuring the phrase.

This afternoon, Pollard’s management announced that the t-shirt would be removed from sale.

It has now disappeared from her website.

The reaction on social media so far has been fairly positive.

David Gest had himself embraced the meme. He was due to embark on a tour this summer called David Gest Is Not Dead But Alive.
