IT DOESN’T TAKE much to get the internet all excited, and usually a simple reference to Top Gun will do it.
So, over the weekend there was an air show in Paris – featuring some top pilots doing their thing. A spectator tweeted out this picture of a Pakistani pilot, and there was something very familiar about it:

He’s basically Pakistan’s version of Tom Cruise in Top Gun
According to Yahoo, the man in question is Squadron Leader Yaser Mudasser. He flies for the Pakistan Air Force and did not expect to become internet famous after the air show, saying:
It’s funny. One never imagines that you’ll get this kind of attention when you’re training day-in day-out.
Get used to it Yaser. You’re a fighter pilot who wears aviator shades and looks exactly like Tom Cruise. Embrace it.
