DONALD TRUMP HAS a bit of a reputation for putting his foot in it, especially when it comes to women. The billionaire mogul is currently running for the Republican party nomination in the States.
He called into CNN after a hostile questioning by FOX News’ Megyn Kelly, and spoke with reporter Don Lemon.
Defending himself, or at least attempting to, Trump said he just didn’t respect Kelly as a journalist before claiming she had “blood coming out her eyes” and “blood coming out of her … wherever.”
Oh no he DIDN’T.
Kelly was one of the moderators at the first Republican presidential debate on Thursday and called Trump out on his past remarks against women, calling them ‘fat pigs’, ‘dogs’, ‘slobs’ and ‘disgusting animals’ in the past.
Trump criticised Kelly’s treatment of him during the debate, saying she ‘behaved very badly’, adding:
I’ve been very nice to you, although I could probably maybe not be, based on the way you have treated me. But I wouldn’t do that.
Predictably, his comments didn’t go down too well.
Trumps comments have seen him banned from the RedState gathering tonight, the largest conservative activist gathering in the States. Organiser Erick Erickson said Kelly has been invited in Trump’s place.
According to the Washington Post, Trump’s camp called Erickson “a weak and pathetic leader”, as a result.
The drama continues.
