What to watch on TV tonight: Thursday

This is the telly everyone will be talking about tomorrow.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Emma Murphy Fights Back (RTÉ 2, 9.30pm)

You might remember Emma posting an absolutely shocking video on social media after her partner punched her in the face. This documentary will follow her as she tries to raise awareness about the issue of domestic violence in Ireland. She’ll speak to the mother of Alicia Brough who was killed along with her friend Sarah Hines and her two children Amy and Reece by Sarah’s ex boyfriend John Greary.

First Dates (Channel 4, 10pm)

This week sees Matt who is a barber and big football fan paired with hairdresser Adele. We’re also going to meet Max who loves language but is bad at saying the right thing at the right time. Finally Leora is an estate agent who is bored of Chelsea boys and is paired up with Ben. But will he meet her expectations? Only way to find out is to tune in.

DIY SOS: The Big Build (be3, 8pm)

Nick Knowles and the team are in Eckington to help redesign the home of 17 year old Antonia who has a rare disorder called Ehlers-Danos Syndrome. Her joints regularly dislocate so she has to be fed through a tube. The team are hoping to build a functional medical space for her as well as a wet room and an accessible space for her to socialise. These episodes are always a tearjerker.

Everyone’s talking about… Gemma Collins calling out her friends on Instagram.

Poor Gemma Collins is having a bit of a rough time and seems like she can’t trust anyone. She took to Instagram to call out friends for tipping off paparazzi to find her and snap her when she’s out and about.

The callout may be in relation to recent photos of her in Marbella getting a massage and just generally having a good time. She can’t get a moment’s peace and it’d be nice if the snakes that seem to be present in her life would stop tipping people off. The girl just wants a massage.

Or switch over for…

  • Ireland’s Most Shocking Crimes (3e, 9pm) New series looking at some of Ireland’s most infamous cases of recent years. First up will be the murder of Rachel O’Reilly by her husband Joe in 2004.
  • The Handmaid’s Tale (RTÉ 2, 10.30pm) The dystopian drama continues.
  • Million Pound Menu (BBC Two, 9pm) Fred from First Dates hosts the show where 2 food companies bid for investment into their businesses. This week involves pasta and cheese.
