What to watch on TV tonight: Thursday

This is the telly everyone will be talking about tomorrow.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Love Island (3e, 9pm)

Alex FINALLY has a date which we will all be watching in earnest to see if he comes out of his shell a little. What effect will Georgia and Rosie have on the villa and will some of the lads be tempted away from their current couples?

Searching for Shergar (BBC One, 9pm)

It was 1983 and the world’s most valuable racehorse had just been abducted from its stables and was never seen again.  Alison Millar hosts this programme where she sets out to see if 35 years on, something has happened that would help solve the mystery of what happened to this famous horse.

Mock the Week (BBC Two, 10pm)

The new series hosted by Dara O’Briain is back just in time for the World Cup. Regular panelist Hugh Dennis will be joined by Angela Barnes, Zoe Lyons, Ed Gamble, James Acaster and Darren Harriott as they look back on the week just gone.

Everyone’s talking about… The new girls on Love Island

ITV ITV

Last night saw the entry of TWO new girls into the villa, 20 year old student Georgia and 26 year old solicitor Rosie. It was panic stations all round for the first 5 girls who were watching their entry from above like hawks deciding which mouse to eat first.

The lads meanwhile were having the time of their lives with Alex, Niall and Eyal visibly excited at the prospect of new girls. Alex even got a date much to everyone’s delight!

However, the new girls need to watch their backs as Hayley has already declared ‘I don’t like them’ despite not having met them yet. Meanwhile Samira is feeling vulnerable given the lack of chemistry between herself and Alex.

Also when new girl Georgia was describing herself as a dancer, Samira took offence to this claiming she’s the only dancer in the villa. We may have to have a dance off to see who is better.

Or flick over for..

  • The Irish Post Music Awards (TG4, 9.30pm) Sile Seoige host the awards which will feature performances from Una Healy and the Blizzards.
  • The Handmaid’s Tale (RTÉ 2, 9.30pm) The dystopian drama continues.
  • First Dates (Channel 4, 10pm) More singles hope to find love including train driver Dean and ex boyband member Jay.
