What to watch on TV tonight: Friday

Who’s on the Late Late Show tonight? And the rest of the shows from your Twitter timeline…

EVERY WEEKDAY lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Conchita Wurst on Graham Norton (BBC1, 11.15pm)

Yes, the Eurovision winner, international-diplomatic-incident-causer and iconic beard-wearer is talking to Graham Norton tonight. And even better, she’ll be alongside Bear Grylls. This could be a wonderful recipe. (Dawn French, Kirsten Dunst and Sam Smith are on too). #grahamnorton

The final of Masterchef (BBC1, 8.30pm)

The last three amateur chefs will battle to the death tonight. OK, not quite the death, but at least the best soufflé. Masterchef has an impressively devoted Twitter following and, with the Late Late having a bit of an off week, this is likely to be the evening’s most tweeted-about show. #mc

Dumb and Dumber (TV3, 9pm)

How many times have you watched the (almost literally) brainless antics of Lloyd and Harry? How many times have you broken yourself laughing? Well, do it all over again. #dumbanddumber

On the chat shows

Late Late: Des Bishop, stylist Lisa Fitzpatrick, Dolores Keogh – an Irish woman who discovered that her sister and brother were actually her mother and father.

Graham Norton: Dawn French, Kirsten Dunst, Bear Grylls, Conchita Wurst, Sam Smith.

Alan Carr: Kylie Minogue, Ian McKellen, Nick Grimshaw

Everybody’s talking about: How I Met Your Dad

CBS CBS

A comedy spinoff of How I Met Your Mother, which ended amid viewer controversy last month, may be commissioned by Netflix. And the proposal is called – yes, you guessed it – How I Met Your Dad.

It will follow the ‘mother’ from the original series, played by Greta Gerwig, in her path to meet Ted Mosby. HIMYM’s network CBS has turned the spinoff down after seeing the pilot, but it’s now being shopped to other networks – with Netflix among the runners, Deadline reports.

Or switch over for…

  • Gogglebox (Channel 4, 9pm) Set your Twitter to ‘overload’.
  • Shutter Island (RTÉ Two, 9pm) Twist-laden Martin Scorsese thriller with Leo DiCaprio.
  • Have I Got News For You (BBC1, 9,30pm) Jo Brand hosts.
  • The Thing (ITV4, 11.20pm) Classic John Carpenter horror.
  • The Story Of Women And Art (BBC2, 9pm) New series on the history of Western art.
