What to watch on TV tonight: Tuesday

Here are the shows that’ll be on your Twitter timeline later.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Life Is Toff (BBC Three, 10pm)

Fourth episode of the reality show about the incredibly posh Fulford family, masters of a 3,000-acre estate in leafy Devon. This week sees them attempting to “reforge” their relationship with the local non-aristocrats by putting in a star appearance at the village fete. It doesn’t go to plan.

Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners (Channel 4, 8pm)

Tonight, the cleaners tackle a woman who hasn’t cleaned her microwave since the 1990s. Frankly, this show is the ideal way to make yourself feel better about your own dubious hygiene standards.

Secrets of the Castle with Ruth, Peter and Tom (BBC Two, 9pm)

Two archaeologists and a historian try to build an actual full-size castle, using only 13th-century techniques and materials. This sounds suspiciously like one of those shows that could either be (a) a cult hit, or (b) fundamentally fairly boring but with amusing scenes of academics using primitive toilets.

Everyone’s talking about: that Aaliyah biopic

EMPICS Entertainment EMPICS Entertainment

US channel Lifetime screened its much-publicised biopic of the late lamented pop star Aaliyah this week. And it was an absolute disaster. So much so, in fact, that it’s become something of an online phenomenon. Between the terrible reviews, bitter dissections of where Lifetime went wrong, and outright condemnation from people in Aaliyah’s life… it hasn’t gone well at all. Not at all.

It even got its own hashtag with suggestions for what the channel could do next:

Or flick over for…

  • You Can’t Get The Staff (Channel 4, 9pm) Reality show about fabulously wealthy people trying to hire servants. A hate-watch essential.
  • Masterchef: The Professionals (BBC2, 8pm) The chefs continue their bitter, bitter struggle.
  • Homeland (RTÉ Two, 9pm) Carrie cry-face!
  • The Leftovers (Sky Atlantic, 9pm) Latest in the HBO series.
