People were really upset UTV Ireland replaced The Dark Knight with Pat Kenny

The popular Batman movie was shown in UTV last night but a documentary fronted by Pat Kenny was shown on the new Irish channel at the same time instead.

YESTERDAY SAW THE launch of UTV Ireland and as the new channel came to life, viewers were already pipping up with criticisms.

A quick introduction of the new team was followed by an hour of Emmerdale. No major controversy there, lots of people like the soaps.

After this, however, was a documentary fronted by one of the channel’s high profile faces, Pat Kenny. It saw Kenny travel around the country interviewing people like Hozier and Tommy Bowe and showing off the country’s beautiful scenery.

This was where the mood changed. Over on UTV, the popular movie The Dark Knight was scheduled for the same time as this documentary and many people who either didn’t know about the launch or forgot about it were looking forward to sitting down to watch it.

They were not amused.
