VIDEO: Your weekend movies... side effects and J-Lo

Cinema trip this weekend? TheJournal.ie brings you snippets from new releases to help you decide where to put your money…

WHICH NEW MOVIE release is worth the price of a cinema ticket this weekend? We’re here to help you decide just that, with these trailers.

Side Effects

(E1EntertainmentUk/YouTube)

For fans of: Soderbergh, prison

Avoid if: You prefer Channing Tatum stripping

Director Steve Soderbergh is here with a family-friendly tale about a young couple just getting on with life… Sorry, wrong movie. This actually concerns Emily (Rooney Mara) and her husband Martin (Channing Tatum), who seem to have it all (well, except for Martin’s stint in prison) until Emily is put on anti-anxiety drugs that have powerful side effects. Not a first date movie.

Parker

For fans of: JASON

Avoid if: The sight of Jason Statham in a stetson makes you feel a bit queasy

Jason Statham and his rippling muscles are back as he brings us the story of a hardened professional criminal, but one with his own ethics. So expect to feel both in awe of his attitude and a little bit afraid during this film.

Also, this has Miss J-Lo herself in it. Holla!

Broken

(FilmsActuTrailers/YouTube)

For fans of: Dark family movies

Avoid if: You want to watch something cheery

A young girl witnesses a violent incident that changes her life… yes, this is One of Those Movies. But it looks really sweet and sad, and it stars Tim Roth and Cillian Murphy, so we suspect it can do no wrong.
