IT’S OFTEN SAID that people who hamper themselves from carrying out a particular task have ‘shot themselves in the foot’.
It’s rarely taken as literally as in this botched Brazilian bank robber, however.
This man was part of a group which Sky News says was holding up a bank in a small town in the southern Brazilian province of Parana last week.
The man was acting guard at the bank’s front door while some colleagues went inside to continue their raid.
All was going well until the watchman managed to somehow point his handgun towards his legs and, literally, pump a bullet into his foot.
The raid continued – the man limped out of the bank – but he was arrested that evening after attending a local hospital to seek medical treatment.
