Is the new Calvin Harris song weirdly similar to an old Westlife song?

A lot of people seem to think so.

HAVE YOU HEARD Blame by Calvin Harris? Have you noticed any similarities between it and Westlife’s World of Our Own at all?

If so, you are not the only one.

Since Harris released the song earlier this year, several people have taken to Twitter claiming that the two songs sound a little too alike.

Reader Sarah Mahon told that her boyfriend also noticed the striking similarity and made this mash-up to highlight how both riffs are practically interchangeable.

Once you hear it, you can’t unhear it.

For his part, Calvin Harris doesn’t appear to have addressed the similarities yet. But judging by this nostalgic tweet from 2011, he does have a soft spot for the boys.
