What to watch on TV tonight: Sunday

Here are the shows people will be talking about tomorrow.

DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

Robot Wars (BBC Two, 8pm)

No, we haven’t stepped into a time machine. Robot Wars is properly BACK. Hosted by Angela Scanlon and Dara Ó Briain (COYBIG!), the series will see 40 teams of amateur robot fighting teams duke it out in the hope of becoming Robot Wars Champion. Perfect slice of Sunday evening throwback fun. And yes, Sir Killalot is still knocking around the place. #RobotWars

The General (RTÉ One, 9.30pm)

A film about the notorious criminal Martin Cahill starring the incomparable Brendan Gleeson. Sure, you’ve seen it a dozen times, but once more won’t hurt.

PS I Love You (TV3, 10pm)

Meanwhile if rom-coms set in Ireland (see: Leap Year, The Matchmaker) are your guilty pleasure, then you owe it yourself to watch PS I Love You. If only to have a sneer at Gerard Butler’s woeful Irish accent.

Everyone’s talking about… Star Trek

Star Trek fans, rejoice!

A new TV series Star Trek: Discovery  is on the way and fans got their first glimpse of it at Comic-Con yesterday.

The show is slated to debut in January 2017 on streaming service CBS All Access. Showrunner Bryan Fuller confirmed that it will not be episodic, but rather will “tell stories like a novel”.

So now.
