win or lose

Lena Dunham, Miranda Kerr, and Cillian Murphy... it's our winners and losers of the week

Some will win, some will lose.

DailyEdge praises those who rocked the week in celebland, while keeping a watchful eye on those who should just log off forever.

Losers

Lena Dunham

What was supposed to be an amazing week for Lena, turned into a bit of a disaster. The GIRLS creator was announced as the newest cast member on the cult show, American Horror story. People weren’t pleased about it.

Well, that’s everything ruined so.

Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran and Lena Dunham have a lot to talk about. Sheeran appeared in the series premiere of Game of Thrones on Sunday night and it didn’t go down well at all.

Ed sang a little song as Maisie William’s Ayra Stark approached a group of soldiers. Ed got so much backlash from it he was forced to delete his Twitter account. Poor Ed.

Miranda Kerr

Miranda Kerr may have married a billionaire earlier this year, but she’ll by no means be a lady of leisure. No no, the model told Vogue magazine this week that she began the big day by cooking her husband (Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel) a slow-roasted chicken scented with turmeric and lemon.

Why?

So he could decide when it was just perfect, and therefore the chefs would replicated it for all of their guest.

Ok Miranda hun, take a break.

Winners

Chris Evans

Chris Evans, yes, this Chris Evans, topped the BBC pay list this week. The presenter rakes in over £2.2 million a year, beating his competition Gary Lineker to the highest-paid title by about £500,000.

Listen, he’s doing something right.

Cillian Murphy

So Cillian is promoting Dunkirk at the moment, but as we all know, isn’t a big fan of the whole press interview thing. It’s the Irish in him.

Oh? Little old me?

The actor appeared on Late Night with Stephen Colbert and the whole thing was a bit of a mess. We’re calling him a winner though for his relentless refusal to go along with Colbert’s multiple Irish quips. Ok Colbert, save the stereotypes for us.

Harry Styles

Speaking of rides starring in Dunkirk, Harry Styles is our final winner this week thanks to lovely words about his fans. When asked by a reporter at the US premiere of Dunkirk on Tuesday about his annoying fans, Harry didn’t miss a beat.

Harry, do they follow you absolutely everywhere?
Who are we talking about?
Your fans…
Oh, they’re the best people in the world.

Sigh.
