TICKETS FOR ED SHEERAN’S sold-out dates in Croke Park are now being offered for sale online for more than 10 times their face value.
Sellers on online ticket marketplace Viagogo are advertising passes to the July 24 date for as much as €820.
The tickets – around 160,000 of which sold out in less than an hour this morning – were originally sold for between €69 and €80.
On Ebay, meanwhile, several advertisers are offering to resell tickets for as much as €175 each.
Irish classified site DoneDeal said it is capping the prices of resold Ed Sheeran tickets at €110, in “an effort to prevent ticket touts and scams”.
In a post giving advice on buying tickets, the site said it was taking steps to protect buyers.
DoneDeal also welcomes ticket touting advertisements being flagged and we encourage DoneDealers to bring any such concerns to our attention using the report ad option.
It’s not yet clear whether anyone has actually bought the tickets at these inflated prices.
