Ed Sheeran has denied that Taylor Swift's new song 'Dress' is all about him... it's the Dredge

All the day’s celebrity dirt.

EVERY WEEKDAY MORNING, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the best of the day’s celebrity dirt from the top to the very bottom.

As with every single Taylor Swift release since the beginning of time, the lyrics of her new album are being analysed to death in an attempt to figure out who the songs are about.

Among the obvious exes and people she’s feuding with, fans are convinced that the song Dress on Reputation was about her good pal Ed Sheeran.

Specifically, these lyrics from the chorus seem most relevant:

Say my name and everything just stops/I don’t want you like a best friend/Only bought this dress so you could take it off, take it off

Also, later in the song, a reference to one of Ed’s most famous recent tracks:

There is an indentation in the shape of you

So Ed was asked about the theory over the weekend, during a livestream with Augustman and he doesn’t buy the idea at all:

The crucial sticking point is not his actual knowledge that they didn’t get together, but this one line:

Flash back when you met me/Your buzzcut and my hair bleached

So it’s not the most strenuous of denials.

Swift is known for wrapping song lyrics in enigmas and riddles, so there might be a hint of trolling by putting lines in there that could be about Sheeran. We’ll have to wait for the next batch of songs for more clues. And the batch after that. Forever.

Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau – aka Jaime Lannister on Game of Thrones – was only going to be supporting one team last night.

But in the run up to the game, he tweeted a photo of two Irish lads he met over the weekend to his 360,000 followers:

“Good luck tonight lads. May the best team win.”

He’s sound like that.

Saoirse Ronan has reportedly bought herself a €1 million mansion in Wicklow.

Definitely nicer than Manhattan.

She currently lives in New York, but this could herald a return to Ireland in the near future – and possibly spark further rumours of a relationship with fellow Wicklow resident Hozier.
