According to The Hollywood Reporter, they intend it as a silent acknowledgement of the flood of sexual abuse allegations in Hollywood that began with Harvey Weinstein.
The SAG Awards will also address the issue – Kristen Bell is set to host the ceremony, and all of the presenters will be female. The executive producer of the show said:
