You can get Northern Irish Tayto sandwiches on Aer Lingus flights from Belfast

:O

LAST YEAR, AER Lingus began selling Tayto sandwich packs on its European flights.

And it, ahem, really took off.

But did you know flights out of Belfast serve sandwiches with… Northern Tayto?

Yes, it would appear that Aer Lingus flights from Belfast offers customers the choice between regular Tayto, and Northern Tayto.

Those who opt for Northern Tayto get this.

As anyone who has tried both crisps will be able to tell you, there is a distinct difference between both crisps. They may share a name, but they share little else.

We conducted a taste test last year and found that Irish Tayto were nicer than their Northern counterparts. One assessment of Nordie Tayto?

I just think they are like brand imitation crisps. Just not as good as the real thing.

That said, Northern Tayto has its loyal fans.

Even Belfast International Airport describes them as “the taste of Northern Ireland”.

Something to try the next time you’re flying through Belfast!
