Angela from 'The Office' called out her nephew for using a photo of her to get attention on Tinder

That’s him told.

IF THERE’S ONE thing that slows down left-swiping on dating app Tinder, it’s a photo of someone with a celebrity.

Regardless of whether it’s an RTÉ Weather Forecast presenter or someone who was in a Harry Potter film, a pic with someone famous is going to make most people stop and ask “Hey, hold on. Was that ____?”

It doesn’t guarantee you any more matches, but it will get you slightly more attention, because people will naturally be curious about how some randomer off Tinder ended up hanging around with Louis Walsh or Emmet from Fair City.

You’d be extra curious if you spotted someone with a celeb you really liked, and even more curious if it turned out they were related to that celebrity. One 25-year-old named James realised that, and took full advantage.

You see, his aunty is Angela Kinsey, who played Angela in The Office. Fans of The Office don’t just like The Office. They love it. So he decided to upload a photo of himself and Angela and set his bio as “Yes, Angela from The Office is my aunty.”

Somehow, word got back to Angela, so she took to Instagram to make a show of James, by writing, “Nephews… Do not put me in your @tinder profile photos. K. Thx. Byeeee.”

One Tinder user who spotted Angela’s nephew decided to screenshot his profile and tweet it alongside Angela’s Instagram story to give us some context.

Angela eventually saw the tweet, too.

Besides her Instagram stories, Angela Kinsey’s also been getting some attention on Twitter for revealing what role she initially wanted in The Office. Apparently, she wanted to be Pam, but instead was invited to play the “bitch in accounting”.
