Beavis and Butthead haven't aged a bit! MTV
Cult Heroes

Beavis & Butthead are making a comeback

On October 27, MTV in the US will air the first new episode of the cult phenomenon since 1997.

BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD are returning to television screens later this month as MTV gives new episodes the green light.

Huhhhhh, huhhhhh…it’s true – the often revolting, and usually dumb American teenagers, will hit the airwaves again on October 27.

Created (and voiced) by Mike Judge, Beavis and Butthead were constant favourites with MTV viewers from March 1993 to November 1997.

For large chunks of the cartoon episodes, the teenagers watched music videos to poke fun at them.

As the relevance of music videos has declined massively since the culture critics were last on our screens, the dim-witted pair will have to focus on different material for their show.

They didn’t have to look too hard with comedic gold sitting on their doorstep at MTV in the form of reality TV shows Jersey Shore, 16 and Pregnant and Ultimate Fighting.

They are also set to pick on some of the world’s viral video stars.

MTV has released a teaser-trailer of the first episode, ‘The Holy Cornholio’:
