Stop everything, there's a Captain Planet movie in the works

THERE ARE CARTOONS and then there are cartoons and Captain Planet definitely falls into that elite category.

After being one of the biggest kids TV shows of the 90s there are now plans to bring Captain Planet (and presumably the Planeteers) to the big screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures are in the final negotiations to get the rights to the iconic series for a proposed feature film.

Apparently early attempts to create a film in the late 90s and then a live-action TV series in the 2000s failed to take hold.
