AN IMAGE PURPORTED to be the cover of next week’s issue of Charlie Hebdo is doing the rounds on social media – a stark black page with the text “Urgent recherche 6 dessinateurs” (“Urgently seeking six cartoonists”).
The cover is a fake – it’s the creation of Les Guignols de l’Info, a TV show that has been called the French equivalent of Spitting Image.
The cover was posted on the Les Guignols de l’Info Facebook page yesterday evening, with the caption:
Oof, Charlie Hebdo’s spirit isn’t dead. We have good news today, Charlie Hebdo will be published next week, here’s a look at the cover.
