The Terry's Chocolate Orange McFlurry was just released in Ireland and we tried it out

It’s HERE.

LAST WEEK, WE discovered that McDonald’s annual Christmas menu contains a brand new item this year: the Terry’s Chocolate Orange McFlurry.

And in more good news – it was released in Ireland today, and we got our paws on one.

Look at it there, in all its Chocolate Orange-y goodness

It’s a simple creation: standard McFlurry ice cream with Terry’s Chocolate Orange pieces and lathered in Terry’s Chocolate Orange Sauce.

A crew of enthusiastic taste testers were gathered to put the McFlurry through its paces.

First impressions were good:

I love Chocolate Orange and I absolutely love this.

It has that pure essence of Chocolate Orange, as another taste tester remarked:

It’s different to what I was expecting, but in a good way. I kind of expected it to be just little bits of chocolate orange lobbed into vanilla ice-cream, but it was much chocolate-orangier than that. Would buy a tub of it, to be honest.

Naturally enough – the bigger the fan of that distinctive Chocolate Orange taste, the more you will like it

For purely scientific purposes, we convinced someone who doesn’t like Terry’s Chocolate Oranges to give the new McFlurry a go. Can it translate to non-Terry’s fans?

I wouldn’t like that at all. McDonald’s ice cream is usually a solid choice but that’s not for me.

So, the final takeaway here is that the Chocolate Orange McFlurry definitely lives up to expectations

A delish new addition to the Christmas menu at McDonald’s, then

And they’re in stores until January 2nd (as long as the nation doesn’t go mad and eat them out of all their stock – which might well be a possibility).
