U2 didn't show up to the Choice Music Prize, but there was tea ready for them anyway

LAST NIGHT, TRAD band The Gloaming won the Choice Music Prize for their self-titled debut album.

U2 were also nominated for Songs of Innocence, but Bono is currently housebound after breaking his arm in six places in a bike accident last year. It was unlikely that he or the band would show up, but the organisers were prepared either way.

The lads from Delorentos Instagrammed this picture of a ‘tea prep area’ set up specifically in the hopes of Bono or U2 arriving at the ceremony:

Aw. So hopeful. So misguidedly hopeful.

We have learned one thing, though: Tea is apparently the new sex, drugs and rock and roll.
