Here's why The Creep Dive podcast is about to become your latest obsession

‘We delve deeper than any normal person has time for.’

MOTHER OF POD fans will know that it is seldom that hosts, Sophie White and Jen O’Dwyer, don’t find themselves inadvertently segueing into the seamier side of things during episodes of their hugely popular podcast.

Whether it’s a passing reference to Murderpedia or personal anecdotes detailing brushes with the supernatural, their fascination with the darker side of life shines through, even in a podcast dedicated to the ups and downs of parenting.

As such, the two women, along with Mother of Pod producer and Before Brunch co-host Cassie Delaney, made the decision to devote an entirely new podcast to the genre, and with that The Creep Dive was born.

In it, the three hosts dissect and discuss the more bizarre stories to have hit the headlines in recent times.

From con artists to encounters with the supernatural, we delve deeper than any normal person has time for.

Over the course of the first five episodes, they discuss, among other things, the infamous case of ‘The GPO Girl’, the British prison guard known as ‘Canoe Man’, and the story of John Wayne and Lorena Bobbitt – a court case which gripped America in the early 90s.

While still in its infancy, the format has thus far allowed for one lengthy tale and two shorter ones, meaning that in each episode one of the hosts will hold court with a more substantial report.

At times, the two hosts listening are familiar with the tale being told, but are – like the listener – desperate for details which may have eluded them in the past.

At other times, one (or both) of the hosts who are listening may be completely unfamiliar with the story, so pose the very questions you – as a listener – want answered.

Sophie, Jen and Cassie have created an environment which manages to be eerie, entertaining and engaging all at once, and despite the disturbing nature of the stories – the clue is in the name, after all – The Creep Dive is laugh-out-loud funny.

Indeed, yet another example of a podcast that makes you wish you could be more than just a passive listener.

If you’re fan of Mother of Pod or subscribe to Before Brunch, then this is unmissable.
