Last week Tina of the YouTube channel MakeupWearables posted a tutorial for ‘maxi pad curls’, folding pads into cylinders and twisting them into her hair.

As well as giving truly massive curls, she claims that the absorbency of the pads helps damp hair dry faster:

It’s a bit bizarre, but using ‘feminine hygiene’ products to style your hair isn’t particularly new.

Back in 2013, YouTuber GlitterForever17 posted a video of her twisting tampons into her hair to get bouncy curls – she says the tampons are more comfortable than your regular foam rollers.
