NOW THAT’S DEDICATION. In an act of fan solidarity that would put Directioners to shame, Glenis Mantell queued a massive 32 hours to buy front row tickets to see her idol, Daniel O’Donnell.
Glenis was determined to get the best seats in the house for the Irish singer’s gig at Hanley’s Victoria Hall in May, despite having seen him live more than 100 times before.
The superfan set up camp at 1am on Friday outside Regent theatre and stayed there until tickets went on sale on Saturday. The 50-year-old was only accompanied by her partner Jason Heath, but other fans soon started piling up on Friday night to get their hands on some of the gold dust.
Speaking to the Stoke Sentinel, Mantell said the long wait was necessary.
If you want front row seats you have got to camp overnight. It was snowing when we arrived on Friday morning. But we were quite cosy. We have got sleeping bags, a tent and I’m wearing two layers of thermal clothing. So I’ve actually been quite warm.
She also mentioned that the people working nearby were supportive in her quest.
It’s nice, the owner of the Meeting Room has offered us free tea whenever we want it and the men who operate the CCTV cameras have been down to see us, they told us they were looking out for us.
Speaking to SWNS, Mantell had nothing but good things to say about our Daniel.
He is such a lovely man, he always stays behind after his concert for a meet and greet and not many singers do that nowadays.
